The Upper State Apartment Association serves the multifamily housing industry with a focus on advocacy, education, and the professional growth of our members across South Carolina.
We believe that the strength of our communities relies on the stability and professionalism of the multifamily industry. As a non-profit steward, we bridge the gap between individual property management and the broader regulatory landscape, ensuring that every member has the resources to excel in providing homes for the Upstate.
Institutional Growth since 1979
For over four decades, the Upper State Apartment Association (USAA) has been a dedicated organization serving the multifamily housing industry in the upstate region of South Carolina. Our commitment is rooted in advocacy—representing our members' interests in critical regulatory and legislative matters that impact their business operations.
From monitoring federal matters and rent control discussions to addressing specific regulations like emotional support animal guidelines, we ensure the multifamily sector remains a vibrant and sustainable part of South Carolina's economy.
The industry is only as strong as its professionals. We deliver high-quality training and certification programs—from Property Management and Fair Housing training to Certified Pool Operator (CPO) and EPA certifications. This focus ensures our members stay informed, compliant, and ahead of industry standards.
Networking is the fabric of our association. We facilitate connections among property owners, managers, and partners through educational seminars, mixers, and our online member portal. Our Diamond and Platinum partners provide additional value, fostering a collaborative ecosystem that benefits the entire region.
Our members gain exclusive access to industry news, research tools, and a robust career directory connecting job seekers with the region’s top employers.
